CAGS Garden Visit with Afternoon Tea

Louis invites CAGS members to a beautiful garden surrounded by woodland, with flowers, trees, shrubs, water feature, plants for sale, and outdoor cafe. Admission £4. Part of the National Open Garden Scheme, raising money for charity: Meet at 2 Springhurst Close, Shirley Church Road, Shirley, CR0 5AT, from 2.30 pm. It’s in a cul-de-sac, opposite the entrance to Addington Golf Club. Take Bus 194 to Benson Primary School, then short walk up Shirley Church Road, alongside woodland.

2:30 pm Victoria .Leonardo da Vinci ‘A Life in Drawing’. To mark 500 years since his death, over 200 of Leonardo’s drawings will be on view at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace, covering an amazing range of his artistic and scientific studies. Tickets can be booked ahead at £13.50 / £12.20 for Seniors. Otherwise, meet at the Gallery entrance (Buckingham Gate, SW1A 1AA) from 2.30pm, or the JD Wetherspoons pub inside Victoria station from 12.30pm for (optional) lunch.

Jazz: the Art of Improvisation and Conversation

The music of some of the great contemporary jazz pianists, including Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Gwilym Simcock and the incredible young Indonesian pianist Joey Alexander, illustrating both their improvisational skills and their ability to listen and interact with their fellow musicians. The venue is small, so if you would like to come, please call Peter on 020 8777 1898 to book your place. £2.00 contribution for tea, coffee and light refreshments. Bring your own alcohol if desired.
