TransPALS' annual event to mark the international Transgender Day of Remembrance. Join us for readings, music, and to hear the names and remember all trans people who lost their lives over the last year. TDOR lets us remember and raise awareness of hate crimes against trans people. From its beginnings in the United States in 1999, events to commemorate the day are now held in over 180 cities in over 20 countries. All welcome, just come to the main Town Hall entrance. Please arrive from 2:30 for a 3pm start.
Trans Dayof Remembrance
The Trans Day of Remembrance is held every year on the 20th of November to remember transgendered people who have been murdered during the previous year. Croydon's ceremony was held on Saturday the 19th in Bernard Weatherill House. There was also a display in Croydon Library for the week leading up to the 19th.

The Ceremony of Remembrance, in which a candle is lit in remembrance of each named murder victim, will be in a quiet, private space in Bernard Weatherill House with music and poetry. Croydon's TDOR event is being held on the Saturday after the actual day, so that more people can come to it. Optionally meet at 1pm for lunch at Croydon Clocktower Cafe. The ceremony starts at 2pm on the first floor of the Library. For more details, see www.tdor.org.uk/2014-events.
