Screen 25 Presents QueerBee Film Festival: Faith

QueerBee brings authentic queer stories, by queer filmmakers, directly to audiences. Get ready to launch into LGBT History Month with this programme of shorts exploring issues around faith. Throughout our lives we discover there are special religious paradoxes reserved for LGBTIQ people with impacts as varied as the individuals who carry their faith and those who encounter them. Tickets are £8.50 (Concessions £7.00) pay on the door early. Opens at 7:15 pm, for 7;45 start.

LGBT History Month conference

The theme for Outing the Past 2018 is ‘Exploring the Intersections of History and Activism’. The festival begins on the Friday evening with the singer Tom Robinson giving the 2018 Allan Horsfall Lecture in honour of the founder of CHE. Ross will be there to introduce the lecture on behalf of CHE.

SLG Monthly meeting

“Alfred Bruce Douglas, you are charged that between 1891 and 1900 you did wilfully cause the physical, artistic and psychological murder of Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde, author and gay liberation pioneer; and further, that you did conspire to contrive the death of his first and greatest lover, Robert Baldwin Ross, critic and gay liberation pioneer, between 1905 and 1918.” For the prosecution: Peter Scott-Presland; for the defence: Andrew Lumsden, QC. You are the jury.

LGBT History Month Civic Launch Event 2018

in the presence of the Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Toni Letts, and featuring performances from local singer Katie Rose, Croydon jazz diva Gill Manly, LGBT cabaret artist Mark Bunyan, and the Rainbows Across Borders Chorus.
