Community play

The Keyhole
Saturday, 1 July 2017 - 2:00pm

A re-enactment of the arrest, trial and execution of James Pratt and John Smith, the last two men to be hanged for sodomy in the UK, in 1835. A community play, designed to commemorate and acknowledge a major injustice, performed at the site where the two were arrested. There are up to 15 parts, all easy to learn; the rehearsals will require only a small time commitment. Produced by HomoPromos as part of the Southwark LGBT Pride Festival. If you would like to take part, email homopromos@gmail.com, sending a picture and a brief introduction to yourself.

Venue:
Outside 45 Dolben Street (formerly George Street) London SE1 0UQ
