Community play The Keyhole

A re-enactment of the arrest, trial and execution of James Pratt and John Smith, the last two men to be hanged for sodomy in the UK, in 1835. A community play, designed to commemorate and acknowledge a major injustice, performed at the site where the two were arrested. There are up to 15 parts, all easy to learn; the rehearsals will require only a small time commitment. Produced by HomoPromos as part of the Southwark LGBT Pride Festival. Members of the former Guildford Area Gay Group are organizing a garden party, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital, which will be run like the GAGS party but in a different location. It will take place from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday 15 July (Bring a bottle or equivalent.) Tickets are £5 and are only available in advance (not on the door).
